Occupation: Botanist (and wildland firefighter) and Navy aircrewman
Current Hometown: Prior Lake, MN
Marital Status: Married
Spouse's Name & Occupation: Todd Ranua, heavy equipment operator
Children: Hemi James Ranua, 4 years old
Pets: Two cats: Snacky Jack and Bobby cat
What has changed about you? Not much. I'm not so high strung, and like high fashion clothing (not that I ever get to wear them being a botanist or in the Navy).
What hasn't? I still run and love nature.
Best (or Worst) thing about being in your late 20's. Best thing is being very compenent in my job. College does not truly prepare you for the professional world. Five years of working experiance is worth more than the Masters I am working on.
Significant events for you in the last 10 years:
-Ran Division I Track and Cross Country for the University of Minnesota.
-I joined the Navy Reserves after college and get to fly all over the world on a Navy C-130.
-I married a great guy and we have a wonderful smart and active son, Hemi.
-I discovered a plant that has never been observed in Minnesota before: the buttercup pennywort, Hydrocotyle ranunculoides. The nearest state with this plant is Illinois where it is endangered.
Will you be attending the reunion: Yes
